Podcast Adventures is proud to announce a brand new podcast. A seven part radio sitcom called Dead Drunk Detective.

In a town where the criminals are literally monsters, zombie private detective Johnny Stumbles is the one man who can straighten out a town as rotten as his flesh. Whether you’re Dracula, The Bogeyman or The Devil himself; if you’ve got a problem that no one else can solve, he’s the zombie for you… once he sobers up…

Written by Brendan Way (Duck Duck Goose, The Parentheticals), we are really excited to be bringing his fantastic scripts to life in front of a live audience and releasing episodes of the show every Monday in October, culminating in an exciting double-bill finale on Halloween.

The iTunes feed will go live in the coming weeks, until then you can subscribe on Soundcloud or follow us on Facebook or Twitter.

This week on Ed & Friends; lots of lessons and laughter from improv comedy legend and founder of  Hoopla, Steve Roe!

Steve has made a name for himself teaching and performing improvised comedy. In 2006, he and his friends started meeting above a pub in Balham and eventually created Hoopla, which has since become a comedy community with weekly shows, its own festival and a platter of classes and courses that are training and showcasing comedians in the heart of London.

Steve gives Ed a potted history of improv and chats about making things up on the spot, breaking the rules and keeping a healthy disrespect for the art form. He also shares a soon to be award winning story about some Spanish tourists and a bookshop toilet.

Episode 08: Jamie the Secret Cinema Actor – ED & FRIENDS

2016 is here and Ed & Friends kicks off with a with a special bumper edition, half interview and half movie review!

img_6753img_6752

Ed had not seen James Alexander-McInnes for ten years before he bumped straight in to him at Secret Cinema: Empire Strikes Back, so Ed invited Jamie on the podcast and they caught up with life and the actor’s process, particularly in the unique format that Secret Cinema provides.

Secret Cinema is a primarily London-based phenomenon that Jamie has worked on since 2010. They invite you to films without telling you what you are going to see, but they take you in and through the world of the movie. For Shawshank Redemption, they sent the audience to prison. For Bugsy Malone, they were invited to Fat Sam’s Speakeasy. But 2015 was the year that Star Wars returned, not just because of enormously successful release of The Force Awakens in cinemas. Secret Cinema recreated the planet Tatooine, the Death Star, the whole environment of A New Hope in a South London Warehouse for people to experience before watching The Empire Strikes Back. It was incredible. And Jamie was part of it!

We talk to Jamie about being a lifelong Star Wars fan and how it felt to live the Star Wars dream for 60 days! Ed and Jamie then talk at length about the plot of The Force Awakens after about 30 minutes, so SPOILER ALERT!

Don’t forget to rate, review and subscribe on Soundcloud and iTunes!
