This Saturday, a merry of band misanthropes will perform Dead Drunk Detective episodes 1 to 3 in front of a live audience at The Actor’s Temple on Warren Street. And in preparation for this, Podcast Adventures hosted a delightful sit-down read through of the marvellous scripts written by Brendan Way.

There was pizza. There were drinks. The cast that we have assembled is such a wonderful bunch of goofballs, each one as eager to make each other laugh as to help each other get laughs. we can honestly say that whatever the podcast turns in to in the end, the process is going to be made so very enjoyable by this lovely bunch.

Expect to see more than a few costumes on display when we take to the stage this Saturday. Tickets are FREE, so check the details at our Live in the Rotten Flesh Page and prepare for a show that will steal your heart and braaaaains…

dead-drunk-facebook-banner

Podcast Adventures is proud to announce a brand new podcast. A seven part radio sitcom called Dead Drunk Detective.

In a town where the criminals are literally monsters, zombie private detective Johnny Stumbles is the one man who can straighten out a town as rotten as his flesh. With the help of his sarcastic secretary Betty, Johnny fights the crimes that only the most diabolical of monsters could commit. Whether you’re Dracula, The Bogeyman or The Devil himself; if you’ve got a problem that no one else can solve, he’s the zombie for you… once he sobers up…

Written by Brendan Way (Duck Duck Goose, The Parentheticals), we are really excited to be bringing his fantastic scripts to life in front of a live audience and releasing episodes of the show every Monday in October, culminating in an exciting double-bill finale on Halloween.

The iTunes feed will go live in the coming weeks, until then you can subscribe on Soundcloud or follow us on Facebook or Twitter.

If you would like to be a part of Dead Drunk Detective’s live audience, the details can be found on the Live In The Rotten Flesh page.

Episode 25: Steve the Improv Guru – ED & FRIENDS

This week on Ed & Friends; lots of lessons and laughter from improv comedy legend and founder of  Hoopla, Steve Roe!

418436

Steve has made a name for himself teaching and performing improvised comedy. In 2006, he and his friends started meeting above a pub in Balham and eventually created Hoopla, which has since become a comedy community with weekly shows, its own festival and a platter of classes and courses that are training and showcasing comedians in the heart of London.

Steve gives Ed a potted history of improv and chats about making things up on the spot, breaking the rules and keeping a healthy disrespect for the art form. He also shares a soon to be award winning story about some Spanish tourists and a bookshop toilet.

Episode 24: Jim and Bob the Musicians turned Writers – ED & FRIENDS

We’re back from our summer break and we started with a bang. Except that Ed got a little bit drunk with his friends!

img_7992img_7990
Jim McCreddie and Bob Good’s time in the music business left them with an epic back catalogue of crazy characters and weird stories. Now they’re producing a comedy web series all about it. It doesn’t have a name yet, but Ed talks to Jim and Bob all about the process of just getting up and producing their own material.

Jim and Bob share a few of the weird stories that inspired, discuss their comedy heroes and what it’s like to work with friends. The first episode of the show is out this Autumn, and follows the story of a failing band, finding the lighter side to the trials and tribulations of the music business.

Fired up on a fine smorgasbord of supermarket beers, they also invent a new game called Incorrect Impressions, but by that time they are quite drunk and silly. We’ll be keeping you up to date as the series develops

Episode 19: 6 Month Celebration – ED & FRIENDS

This week on the Ed and Friends Podcast, Ed and producer Kat celebrate 6 months of the show with some top clips.

IMG_5265A huge thank you to all of our wonderful guests, and thanks to you for listening! We’ll be back next week with another great interview, but if you know someone unusual and brilliant you think Ed should be talking to, why not let us know! You can get in touch with us by emailing on mail@podcastadventures.com or follow us on Facebook and Twitter.

Episode 04: Fran the Clown – ED & FRIENDS

Ed is delighted to have on the podcast this week an actor, musician, improviser, presenter, stand-up comedian and children’s entertainer: Francesca Reid!

IMG_6520Francesca has been performing since she was an eccentrically imaginative toddler. Flanked by a full cohort of imaginary pals she would write great 6/8 word odes where her knack for vocabulary was evident in the brevity of said great works . . .

She also works with the Flying Seagull Project, a charity dedicated to bringing circus and arts-based fun to people in difficult times. For more info or to make a donation, please go to http://www.theflyingseagullproject.com

And if you would like to learn more about Francesca’s myriad talents, go to www.francescareid.com

Episode 03: Alec the Arctic Explorer (feat. Ellie Grice) – ED & FRIENDS

This week we have a genuine explorer on the podcast! And Ellie Grice! You know, from Giggle Loop!

DSC00776_3322363bAlec Greenwell, as well as being one of Ed’s oldest and dearest friends, is also one of two madmen who braved polar bears, wolves and frostbite as they attempted to retrace the 1938 Arctic expedition of legendary British explorer David Haig-Thomas. On foot!

Alec tells stories of food, pain and danger. And Ed mainly sits there, awestruck.

IMG_0030Co-hosting and equally struck with awe is Ed’s Giggle Loop cohort, the lovely Ellie Grice! As well as being one of a three-part comedy group with Giggle Loop, a two-part comedy duo with Red Beard, she is a solo renaissance lady and comedian on particularly good behaviour.

Don’t forget to rate, review and subscribe on Soundcloud and iTunes!

And for the curious, here’s a map of where the expedition took Alec Greenwell the expedition.
